Who are ICHER?

ICHER provides equal access of evidence-based complementary therapies to members of the community living with long-term illness, establishing links with orthodox healthcare practitioners. ICHER also engages in research and education to develop knowledge and understanding of complementary medicine within the general public, complementary therapists and orthodox healthcare practitioners.

The services we offer are delivered by professional therapists and administration staff who work in a voluntary capacity to meet the recommendations for clinical governance and the National Institute of Clinical Excellence. ICHER provides Complementary Healthcare from an evidence base and offers those complementary therapies recommended in the National Guidelines for Complementary Therapies for use in Supportive and Palliative Care (Tavares 2004) produced by the Prince of Wales Foundation for Integrated Healthcare and the National Council for Hospices.
